Taste depends on the region where the fruits are grown, and value of bottle of wine or spirits mostly reflects a cost of production, for example a creation of Canadian ice wine requires more time and attention than making the desert or fortified wines, as well known desert wines naturally obtain a strength, compare to another type of production adding a distilled spirit. Later production adds a cost of oak barrel if liquid has been aged in it, only two barrels can be made from the eighty years old oak tree.

In the field of bottle labeling we can be supportive to domestic growers and importers. Product labels should comply with foreign government’s traceability law and serve a number of purposes providing information about the product to the consumer, as most prominent ingredients or characteristics of an alcoholic product particular standard, quality, value, grade, composition or style in relation to the supply. Alcoholic beverage must match any description or claim, for example organic claim, made on the labeling, packaging or promotional material, as mandatory warning is a danger and health risk during pregnancy and drunk driving. The U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (the “TTB”) regulates labels with notice of major food allergens used in the production of wines, distilled spirits, such as gluten and sulphites that are subject to the labeling requirements of the Federal Alcohol Administration Act. Some countries require the products having a returnable deposit and labels being written on native language, others agree to stick a label missing mandatory information over cartoon cases and pallet loads.
Export Packaging and Marking
Reasonable and suitable packing can reduce shipping space and save freight paid much as protects the products from being damaged. Our agreements with manufactures recommend appropriate packing for maximum protection of goods in transit, with respect to breakage, weight, moisture and pilferage. We trust our producers, but verify that cardboard boxes, and pallet loads pass export standards that need to be designed to be more robust, moisture protected, sealed and be able to handle weight of bottles in connection to proper bracing. Customs regulations regarding package markings are strictly enforced in many importing countries, a legibility of markings is extremely important to prevent misunderstandings and delays in the interim of pending customs clearance and overall distribution. If requested, most freight forwarders and export packing specialists can supply necessary information regarding specific regulations.
